Load Module remotely

Hi,

I am trying to load modules to a remote Sugar server. The upload hangs and would liek to know what protocol/ports are being used for the upload. Is it FTP? If it is, is there a way to use SFTP?
Is there a command line option to install modules?

If you can access the server and upload the file yourself, place it in the uploads directory.

Make sure you have all the naming correct. See existing from past uploads. You have a good question hope someone chimes in I would like to know the protocal as well.

I believe you just can install modules using the ModuleLoader itself (upload from local machine) or SugarForge, after entering the credentials in the ModuleLoader.

What ptemplin7 could works if you also created a new entry into upgrade_history table and create a directory inside cache/upload/upgrades/tmp

HI Andopes,

In version 5.0.0b, and looks like going forward, you can no longer directly install from SugarForge.
It a pitty as to remotely get modules loaded is going to mean opening new holes in firewalls. I assume it is going to impact upgrades too....

Yes that is true, but

You can down load the upgrade/module to your machine first and then select the file to upload from there. I had been doing that anyway. Simply convert to a local upload instead of using the defunct sugarforge link.
