Log in external website through Portal

I am trying to use My Portal to integrate with a online database web site I set up earlier. I was unable to log into the website through "my portal" and it seems to occur with all secure log in sites (e.g. other email log in pages). Are there any solutions to this?

Or ultimately, if the user is logged onto Sugar, then I want it so that clicking the portal to my website's index page will redirect the user accordingly. I am trying to get parameters from sugar's sessions to verify whether the user is authenticated on Sugar (or something similar). But I do not want users to be able to enter a direct url to reach that page (posting a GET through the url will be very foolish).

Are there any possible ways in implementing this?

Nevermind, I found two fixes. First, don't use IE. Use Mozilla and it works. Second, if you really want to us IE, set your cookies to allow all cookies and it works.
