LOGIN BROKEN. Directly after install admin can't login.

Let me start off by letting you know I've installed Sugar many times on different hosts, so I'm no newb.

Environment

Media Temple virtual server. All the bells and whistles you'd expect from a higher-end hosting company in terms of technology. PHP, mySQLi etc etc

The Prob

Install went fine (other than having to correct permissions on a lot of things).

DB is populated.

When I attempt to login, a number of processes begin, but instead of logging in the page simply refreshes and prompts me for my login again.

No errors. No messages.

The Troubleshoot

I reset the password through the DB using the sugar user-hash.
No go.

I ran the install again and verified my user / pass.

That didn't work either. Anyone have any thoughts?

Problem solved. It was permission issues. Is it strange that the thing only works with 777 for all the cache, modules, data directories?

Same problem - I, unlike you, am a raw newbie at this, so can you please explain how you solved the permission issues.
