Login not working in IE8

Hi there

I have installed SugarCE 5.5 on a Windows Server 2003 with MySQL 5.1 and PHP 5.2.11 and Apache 2.2.14.

Problem is that when we try to log in with Firefox everything works fine, however when we try to log in with IE8, the system after we press "Login" returns us back to the login screen not showing any information or error.

We have tried this in different pc's and from different networks.

Is there any trick we need to follow to get this working with IE (IE7 or IE8)???

well tbh from my experience stop using IE, it's just bad

Hi jlabuelo,
I don"t have the same setup, but i have the same problem. My setup is Linux Debian etch + apache2 + php 5.2.0 + sugar 5.1.0c. The only way we found to make it work in IE, is to NOT using the virtualhost in apache.
Suppose i have sugar install in /var/www/sugar_test. I call the website as http://servername.domain/sugar_test in IE. And it is working.
Is it working for you?
Now, i need to know why it is not working via a virtualhost.

I can only call the system with http://servername.domain.com as this is a subdomain name that I have redirected by frame this way directly to another server http://ip_addressort/sugarcrm/index.php.

Lets say I have the domain hired in a company and the server in our office. It is only in IE and to make it work I need to go to Tools->Internet Options-->Privacy and set it to Low, this way it works fine and the system lets me log in with the users.

Any idea of how can I configure the server where I have sugar installed ( ip_addressort/sugarcrm ) so this is not happening, I can not ask all the users to set their privacy to low or just tell them not to use IE.

this has nothing to do with your server setup whatsoever

this is an issue with security and scripting within IE

add the FQDN to trusted groups as well as the Public IP range to start with

You will most likely have to play with many of the other useless settings inside of IE that pertain to website scripting and default behaviors. Because there are over 100 settings and IE is a disaster of a browser it is hard to tell which one is causing you your problems. But since you can set the security to LOW and everything works it is a permission in the MED or HIGH tabs that is causing your irratic browser behavior
