    Post Login or Password Incorrect when adding email accounts

    Hello once again good people,

    I'm having an interesting problem when adding email accounts to users' mail configurations. I have some general-use accounts that are being added to multiple Sugar users. On most users I can add the accounts with no issues. However, on a few users, I get 'Login or Password Incorrect' when adding an account I just added to another user.

    What causes this, and how do I get it to work? It's killing me...

    I can't think of how this would happen, short of a typo.

    Unfortunately it's not a typo (which I wish were the case), as I can use that same username/password to log into web mail. So I know the credentials are correct, but Sugar says they aren't.

    Also, while in my original problem statement I indicated that I had successfully added those email accounts to some users and experienced failure of the same account on other users, that is inaccurate. I am unable to add 2 of my 15 accounts at all. Either to monitored mailboxes, or to individual user mail configurations. So those just aren't authenticating. That being said, I can log into webmail with the same credentials that are failing in Sugar.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Having the same issue.
    Not a typo. Was thinking it was a timing issue...perhaps the reset password has a limited life span, but haven't been able to track this down.

    Any ideas?

    Need to bump this back up. The problem remains with the same 2 accounts. Trying to add under 'Monitor New Mail Account', but it comes back saying Bad Username or Password. However, I can use the username/password combo to log into the domain, as well as access web mail. So I know the username and password are correct, Sugar just isn't liking it.

    These accounts were created exactly as the others were. I can get 9 to work, but 2 do not. From a mail server perspective, all 11 accounts are identical (except the names and email addresses). Security settings, Mail Store, access rights, enabled services... all are identical.

    Can anyone please toss out an idea or three?

    Are there any specialchars in the passwords?

    There are no special charecters just letters and number on the password, unless if sugar see numbers as special

    Changed the password to only have letters and still the email does not go through. I also enable imap on google apps and still no luck

    We have also recently run into an issue with e-mail passwords in Sugar. After I have created several users and inputted the e-mail information in mail settings i have successfully downloaded the emails for each account.

    One week later we have noticed that the e-mails have stopped coming in (no changes were made to the mail accounts or its configuration) I tried to do Repair >> Repair Inbound Email Accounts and it failed to finish the process. Reload button was working for 15 minutes and there were no output telling me that this process is completed. I have done this several times with no success.

    Then after speaking with one of my friend he has advised me to go ahead and just reenter the original passwords in Mail Settings once again, do a test and this should do it. I did this and my e-mails started coming in into Sugar. He also mentioned it is a known sugar bug but had no advice on how to deal with it besides reentering the passwords when the system fails like in our case.

    Can someone help with an advice on how to fix that issue and what is causing this?, considering this can turn into a large task when you have a number of users.
