Lost data doing Repair Custom Fields

I have version 4.5.1c on windows and I ran Repair Custom Fields. I can no longer see my custom data. The fields are there but there is no data. I looked in accounts_cstm table thinking that is where the data is stored but I do not see it there. Am I looking in the wrong place? What exactly does Repair Custom Fields do? I guess I should have figured that out before running it.
