    Default Mac issues

We've just gone live, and having problems accessing the system on Macs.

They can login, but any updates to records cause the system to hang - it looks like the update took place, but control never returns to the screen - they don't get a response.

We had copied the entire environment from our dev machine, to production, and he still has no problems with dev - just the new production version.

We had done a fair bit of customisation - adding new fields, changing layouts, all through studio.
And one or two hooks, to do some extra calculations on the new fields.

How much can i do through the System Repair options in the admin menu? Can I do everything, without losing our customisations?

Its fine for everyone on Windows.

But for Macs, both Safari and Firefox are hanging.

    running 5.2.0 d

    Any ideas?

OK ... safari and firefox are both supported browsers. In order to eliminate some potential issues we need to know more about your stack!

So - what's the Webserver and version, MySQL version and PHP version?

    I've updated my signature.

We still have serious environment issues, and they seem to be getting worse.
Frequent timeouts, and still the guys who can't access via Macs.

A new one this week was where the hardware guys added another link from our office to the external servers, on different IP addresses. If traffic changed from one link to the other, a user would get the message "your session was terminated due to a significant change in your IP adddress". We temporarily directed all traffic along one link, but it's a waste of a link if we can't use it.

We've updated the php timeout, so sessions won't timeout as frequently.

But we still have the problem with guys on the mac.

He can access sugar on our dev machine, but not the production machine.

    A bit more history:
I initially installed two copies of sugar at the same time - version 5.2.0d, in dev and production.
We did all our customisation on the dev machine, and then decided to copy it across.
At first I thought it was just a database copy (given that the code version hadn't changed), but then I found out that half the layout customisations were missing - new fields, dropdown values etc.
Who would have guessed that customisations were stored in flat files!

So then I copied all the code from dev to production. But the last few files timed out - it took 4 hours to copy and tied up my machine. I don't know which files were not copied. But i logged in, and this time all my layouts and custom fields were there, so I assumed all was fine.
I have done a repair, and refreshed all the cache, through the admin menu, and for the first few days everything was fine, as we only had Windows users at first.
Then the Mac guy came back, and he is not able to connect from work.

They have too much new production data in the prod system, so i definitely don't want to touch the production database.

But I'd love to know exactly how much data is stored in flat files.

i'm tempted to just copy all the codebase across from the dev machine to the production machine, starting early in the morning, so that it has time to copy.

What is the worst that could happen?
Loss of updates to dropdown fields?
Or is there more information stored in flat files?

Sorry for the epic, but they're getting antsy.

    Exclamation Re: Mac issues

    BUMP!

Having the exact same problem here (Sugar 5.2.0i)

Do not have the PHP/MySQL versions we're running to hand, but since it functions perfectly on Windows, I find it hard to fathom it'd be a server-side error.

    Must be something front-end.

Just as raynor detailed, I'm on a mac and while my windows compatriots can submit forms without hitch, everytime I do so it freezes the page; I'm forced to close the session.

The changes do seem to commit to the database, but I do not get confirmation of this - all I experience is a "saving..." notice at the top, which remains indefinitely.

Clicking on *any* of the other links on the page has no impact.

Same thing in both Safari and Firefox.

Anyone with similar experiences know a fix? Otherwise, looks like a fantastic system - need to be able to use it!

    Thanks,

    aj

    Hello, bumping again.

Find it hard to believe there are so few Mac users of Sugar CRM?

Is there anyone running Mac's that has Sugar working perfectly?

Would really like to get this working.

Reiterating - both Firefox and Safari hang when submitting any form in Sugar 5.2.0i.

Puzzled by this - can anyone shed some light?

    Much appreciated.
