    Default Mail Merge Plug-in

    Hi,

I'm trying to use Sugar CE for mail merges. It looks like I have to upgrade to Sugar Pro to get the required MS Word plugin. My questions are:

    1) is it posible to just get the MS Word plug-in without a full upgrade to Sugar Pro?
    2) If I upgrade to Sugar Pro, will I be able to use my Custom Module's data in the mail merge?
    3) Can anyone suggest a good free plugin as an alternative - to perform mail merges in Open Office?

    Any help appreciated,
    Dave

2 yes you can use data from all mods
3 I don't know of any, but there may be some. Check at http://www.sugarforge.org/

A minor point of clarification, the Sugar produced Word plug in is only for Pro/Ent, but there are viable 3rd party alternatives on SugarForge.org for Community Edition. The GrinMark MS Office Plugin will allow you to perform mail merges with Community Edition and Word.

    Thanks for the replies.

Although, it doesn't look like the GrinMark product handles custom modules (all my modules are custom!)

    Cheers

Give this one a look as well to see if it is a better fit:

    http://www.crm2office.com/

I don't have direct experience with that one, but I've heard from others that it works well.

    Thanks Angel,

    I checked this one out.

    Plus points:
    easy to install and use
    free!

    Minus point
    Doesn't handle custom modules.
[the site says it will handle CMs "in the future" though]
