    Default Mailmerge button

This may sound like a stupid question but, where is the Mailmerge button meant to be in the Admin settings!

    Because I don't have one!

On the 4.5 Beta version I did but on a fresh install of released version 4.5 I don't.

I do have the tickbox for each user to tick but not the one that the Administrator must tick for users to get the mailmerge function.

I have tried different Themes and looked through the config.php file but can find no reference to the button.

What am I doing wrong please?!

    CentOS 4.4
    php-5.0.4-5.centos4
    mysql-4.1.20-1.RHEL4.1
    httpd-2.0.52-22.ent.centos4

    Thanks

Did you check "System Settings" on the admin page? In Sugar Pro 4.5 there is an option "MAIL MERGE" - at least in our current upgraded version.

Thanks Pascal but that is the place I am looking for it.
As I said, we had it on the Beta version but I can not see it on the Full version,
I can attach my System settings screen to prove it if neccessary!

    Thanks for your answer though.

    Hi Russ

are you using Sugar Open Source 4.5?

I checked the file modules/Configurator/EditView.tpl. The template code for the mail merge block is missing. Either it is a bug or Sugar provides an upgrade package for OS users who buy the Sugar Network Package. Dont' know.

    Regards, Pascal

Yes, I am using the Opensource version.

I had a thought it might be this.In 4.2 you could just tick the box even if you hadn't paid for Mailmerge so I'm not surprised if they have done this.
I'm surprised that no one else seems to have noticed this yet though.

    Thanks for your help Pascal.

I'll investigate further about your findings.

You done-well-betcha I noticed it tooo...

Just now working on migrating over, and I was scratching my head on this detail while going through and verifying features, functions, operation, etc...

    argh...

This feature WAS in the beta release of 4.5; however, seems to be lacking from the general release of 4.5... hmmmm....

I'd lead towards assuming it was not an accidental mistake or bug, but rather a open source feature removal.. sneaky! (if the case)

More coding, as if I haven't already done enough...

My advice is code'away... You have the necessary code from the open source version.. Just isolate it and then add that to your 4.5 release..

I thought I'd drop by the forums and search'em to see what was up (find the cause and solution) and this thread was all that I found.. This thread WITHOUT a response from sugar??

Quoted below... I guess it's meant to be literal? It sure was in beta2 but not in the 4.5 final release?
Comon guys (@ Sugar), at least tell us what the scoop is... Bug or last minute change of open source features?

    "Feature: Record Merge
    Hi,
There features are in the ENT and the PRO versions. This will be enabled in the OS version by beta2.
    Thanks

    It's OK Chrisky

Although no one from Sugar has posted they obviously noticed the problem because it's fixed on 4.5b!

Only thing is I now have two entries for Mailmerge on the Configure Settings page! (Didn't want to seem ungrateful by posting about it though)!

    Thanks for the reply

    Russ

    LOL,

    Awesome...

I'll take a peak at the latest downloads then as it sounds like it was a bug...
Nasty lil critters that drive ya nuts aren't they?

A big thank you to the sugar team as always!

I still can't seem to find the Enable mail merge tick box in system settings of the open source release 4.5. Are you sure it is in there?

I did find this bug which I assume had it removed in the first place.

Sugar Team, What about Sugar Network subscribers?

    Hi Silkio,

is this an upgrade or fresh install?

On a fresh install of 4.5 I had no button but on upgrading to 4.5b it appeared.
However on upgrading from 4.2.1b to 4.5b I had the Mailmerge button straight away.

    Weird eh?

    Russ
