    Default Mails can read everybody

We installed SugarCRM in our company, but have two problems.

    1) First, if somebody configured the mailbox, everybody can read those e-mails in "all e-mails". Nobody can find a solution to hide or configure it. The only thing is a "group user", but if you are an administrator, it is not possible to check this. On the other hand, if you check or not check "group user", everybody can read the mails.

    2) Second, we want to configure the tabs, so I have configured roles, but those roles assigned to a specific test user is not restricting him to define his tabs again. Example: A developer should not use the sales-modules, so I created a "developer" group and all fields i. e. the contact field I disabled complety for him. But he can see always the tab "contact", only if it is hidden for all users in the system. Otherwise he can make it visible. In the list of users there is a column called "group" (not role). This column is never filled with values and I cannot find to set up this "group".

I think that we did not understand the permission setting from sugar crm just now...

Please give us a hint, because our company like your CRM software solution!

    Kind regards,
    Oliver Wolff

    Hi!

I think that you really have to use roles functionality for deny access to emails for users.
please take a look at the attached file.
Also you have to Assign this role to all users.

    Hope it will help you!

Default Re: Mails can read everybody

Thank you for your hint, but I think that the basics are not fulfilled.

First, I configured the e-mail account for the role to "owner" as shown in your screenshot, but everybody can still read the e-mails. As we found out the panel to set the permission is completly ignored by SugarCRM, however. If I would disable i. e. "contacts" or "calender", that means set every column to state "disable" other users can see those panels! So in conclusion the configuration set to "owner" will be ignored, too.

I am sure, that the role is assigned to the test person and is the only one. No other role. But it is still ignored, the test user can see. Other users assigned to a single role, too.

Is there special configuration flag or a bug for this behaviour assigned?
