Default Making it so you're the only person that can see personal items

Ok I have a database that has a dropdown list in it called contact type. This includes(client, banker, insurance, personal, etc.) I have the database set up so everyone has all privileges to see everyone's accounts. I am wondering if it is possible for all the accounts to remain the same privileges except if the user selects personal contact out of this 'contact type' dropdown. I only want that user to be able to view their personal contacts but still have access to the company wide contacts. Is this possible?

    Thanks

With some customization work you should be able to pull that off. You could overwrite the views and check to see what the contact type is. If personal, only allow the page to load if the current user is the same as the assigned user id. Otherwise do a redirect. There should be examples on the forums for how to create your own custom views.
