Many Blank records suddenly showed up in my database....

My database just "appeared" with about 1300 "blank" Contact records, all created at the same time, across all 4 of my "Contact" modules. I only have a few hundred "real" records total. Does anyone know why this would happen? I deleted all the new Blank records by hand, but trying to avoid it happening again. I use CE 6.1.2 (When it happened, I was doing a few "Mass Update" changes to lots of records ... but just changing existing data in existing fields from one value to another)

Did you customize, by hand, MassUpdate or Contacts module?
Which SugarCRM version?
Did you create any logic_hook under Contacts?

I am using SugarCRM Community Edition ver 6.1.2. It was originally installed as ver 5.5 and later upgraded to keep current. I have not made any code modifications. Do you think taht upgrading to one of the "paid" editions would help ? Or do they use the same base of code as the "Free" edition, with additional functionality?

The issue you are facing is not related to a CE limitation.
There is something weird at your system.
Try the following tests>
Rename folder custom/modules/Contacts to custom/modules/bkp.Contacts
Try again Mass Updating records and double check if the issue is gone.
Let us know the result.
