Mapping of field values between Accounts and Contacts

I am very new to SugarCRM, but I have worked on Microsoft CRM. I wanted to know if there is a way to map certain fields from the Account to the Contact, when a Contact record is created. For eg. If I create a field called "Account Type" which is a drop down field and I create the same field within the Contact record also. If its possible to map the values of this field from the Account record to the Contact record?

If it is a drop down, the 2 fields can share a common list of values. That would keep the 2 fields in sync with each other whenever a value is added/deleted from the list (which I assume is what you what as the end result).

All you need to do is make sure you select the same drop down list definition when defining the field.

That is great but you have to manually update the contact field to set it the same as the account field value.

Can you bring in other Account field values (like the default Account name) into contacts - they do not need to be changed in contacts just displayed and thus searchable for Campaign management. (eg industry type etc). Which file(s) has(have) to be amended?

Anyone any ideas?
