Mass Update Not working correctly - Leads and Accounts

I using the Sugar OS 5.0B and the mass update for leads is not working at all and the Accounts mass update does not work when you try to update the assigned to value. I am running this on a PHP MySQL system, I also have the enhanced search 4.0 installed. Any help would be good. Thanks Garry

Hello,
Enhanced Search 2.0 is integrated with all the SugarCRM features.
Among them, "Mass Update" is tested with all the modules of SugarCRM CE.
So I think that your bug is due to something else.
Please try disabling Enhanced Search to have it confirmed.

I have already had this change in place since it was effecting the search and account name search in leads, There must be something else wrong, On my test side it works ok, It should redisplay the list of leads that you wanted to change, but it does not do that. It is almost like I getting a sql error but nothing shows in the log. Please send me any other thoughts you may have. Thanks Garry

Could I add our 6cents/penny's worth.

Mass update is working for us but randomly and dangerously.
In the Contacts module we want to allocate a series of new contacts to an already existing account. We look for the required contacts by email address to return the right list of contacts. We use the "SELECT" drop down button above the checkbox to select "all contacts in list". We then assign the contacts to a) the designated user and b) the required account. It appears to perform the update but when it has finsihed running there are over 50 names now attached to the account that were definitiely not in the selection list. All I can say is it's a good job we didn't update the entire database of all contacts .... We had no choise but to restore from the back-up tape and lose a morning's work.

We have tried Clint's code workaround re vardefs but are still having a major problem with Mass Update in the Contacts module using the "Select" function.
