Default Messages in the Manage Email Queue

    Hello,
Last few days I have been working on an email campaign
    Some background:
A month ago we were successfully sending campaign emails.
Due to some errors, I pressed "Rebuild Schedulers" in Admin>Repair. I think all problems started from here.
Later we thought that we need to upgrade to latest sugar version 5.2.0a. So we upgraded it.

Now due to time restrictions we launched the email campaign and send it. The send operation started very slow (going through the speed of 10sec/optout email, in fact all optout emails were processed).
Most emails are sitting in the Manage Email Queue, although a small portion went away(around 800 in 2 days sat-sun). When I force them to go away, still they don't go. In fact, the "In Progress" column says 1 and shows figures 1/2 in the "Sent Attempts" column.

I tried to go thru the sugar forums and played with crontab, schedulers, email settings, Linux file permissions, etc. I also reset the values in_queue column to '0' and again pressed the "Send Queued Emails" button. Still no more emails are been sent.

The sugarcrm.log file shows the following errors. These are very frequent errors.
Sat Feb 28 02:10:13 2009 [25180][1][FATAL] SugarPHPMailer encountered an error: SMTP Error: Data not accepted.
    Sat Feb 28 02:02:02 2009 [25108][1][FATAL] Email delivery FAILURE:Array
    Sat Feb 28 02:10:14 2009 [25180][1][FATAL] Email delivery error:Array
Sat Feb 28 02:10:25 2009 [25180][1][FATAL] SugarPHPMailer encountered an error: The following From address failed: email_address_here
Tue Mar 3 16:20:11 2009 [27127][1][FATAL] Error acquiring lock for the emailman entry, skipping email delivery. lock status=0 Array

Also, 2 main schedulers "Run Nightly Mass Email Campaigns" and " Run Nightly Process Bounced Campaign Emails" show "in progress" and every after one hour fails. In addition, "Last Successful Run" value is never for both. I changed the intervals and crontab in it, nothing happens.

Lastly, when using the campaign wizard. It shows
Scheduler has not been set up to process Bounced Campaign Emails.
Scheduler has not been set up to process Campaign Emails and points to the location.
When I edited the 2 schedulers and saved them, they ran for a minute but later they stopped.

I searched the above errors on the google, but they do not help.
I am new to Sugar. Any help/hand really appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

Figured it out some how. Scheduler was never showing status as completed. To accomplish this I changed the emails per batch to 10. changed Run Nightly scheduler to run every 3min. Modified crontab. Restarted the machine. Queue started moving. Also changed the in_queue value to 0 in emailman table. If it is 1, the messages remain in the queue for next 24 hrs.

Thanks for this solution. I had similar troubles and found that I needed to do the following:

+ Use Sendmail as the outbound mail mechanism, not SMTP
+ In Email Setup, set the number of mails in a batch to a small numeber.
+ Set the Scheduler to run the Nightly Mass Email Campaign and Sugar Cron job to run frequently.

I experimented until I found the combination of mails per batch and frequency of Scheduler that allowed the Nightly Mass Mail job to complete successfully. If you see the job failing, then the number of emails per batch is too high. In my case, on my small server, the best numbers were 30 mails per batch and running the Nightly job every 3 minutes.
