    Default Migrate to SugarCRM

    Hello,

I am needing to migrate some data to SugarCRM from a list of contacts I have on Excel. Do you think I ll be able to do this easily? Basically we have a list of prospective customers that we need to upload. So far we have been doing this manually.

    Thanks for your help.

Have a look at the available fields on the Contacts module.

Then edit your excel sheet to contain only those fields and save it as a CSV file.
Then you can use the import function in the Contacts module to map the fields from the CSV file to fields in the module and import the data.

There's a Knowledge Base (KB) article on the subject of Importing that has some tips and tricks you might find useful.

You can find the article here: http://kb.sugarcrm.com/featured/importing-made-easy/

When you have your CSV file, I would suggest you get a special data migration software able to help you out easily on the migration. And do more afterwards. Check programs such as Informatica or the open source Talend. These tools will let you do the Sugarcrm data transfer.
