modifying php.ini

Hello, I got the message: "Your PHP configuration must be changed to allow files of at least 6MB to be uploaded. Please modify the upload_max_filesize value in your php.ini located at: /etc/php4.4/fcgi/php.ini", when I tried to update. My provider does not allow to change the php.ini. Is there an alternative to update?

what are you trying to upload thats 6 megs? =/
you can always put it through ftp.
or if your host gives you shell access, just do it via putty or winscp
