Default Modifying SugarCRM to handle Events/Seminars

    Hi,

I am looking to use SugarCRM to handle promotion and registration of users for Seminars and other events. I have found that I have been able to edit the layout of the campaign module to include some of the additional fields I require, but I have a few questions:

    1. How does one modify the Wizard & Create Campaign (Classic) windows to include your custom fields?

    2. How do you change a field that is already setup as a required field, to no longer being one, particularly with End Date field?

    3. Is this the best way of doing what I want, or is there some dedicated extension/module for handling Events/Seminars in SugarCRM.

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards,
    Zac

We have built a dedicated Marketing Events system within Info At Hand - our commercial superset of SugarCRM Open Source - it will be in IAH 5.1 - due shortly. Allows for multi-session events, tracks attendance at each session, allows for User self-registration via the customer portal, and permits scheduled and templated email reminders to be defined for the event - so that if people enroll weeks before it happens, they will get regular email teasers up until the event. Shows how many people got each reminder, so you can see how registration numbers for the event build over time as well. For each contact and lead in the system, let's you see what events they have been to. And lets you link Invoices issued to Events - so you can report on income generated by each event.

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for the info. I don't suppose you will be selling just the Meetings/Events module as a seperate component for a SugarCRM install?

Would be great if anyone could answer my other questions.

    Regards,
    Zac

No - it depends on the Portal we have as a free part of our solution - but if nothing else it gives you something to look at, part of which you might want to use as ideas in a design of your own.
