module loader not working

Hello,

I have CE 5.2.0j and it is hosted on 1and1. Everything seems to be working well, except I can seem to upload and install any custom modules.. the page just hangs at the module loader page and acts like it is going to do something but never does. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

it is also possible, that u don't have the right to upload file into cache filefolder. There is three different usergroup. owner , group , public. Make sure that for /cache/ the public group have the write permission.

Thanks for the replies, neither seemed to help though. I have the write permissions.. I think it must have something to do with 1and1's hosting

Ive been trying for days now to find a solution. The cache directory is writable by everyone (777) is anyone else has any ideas it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Check the error log of your web server. Hopefully you will find some error messages regarding such issue at the tail of file.

well after some time I decided to give it another shot with version 5.5 and I still cant upload modules using module loader. I dont have access to my logs cause I am on 1and1. The sugar log doesnt seem to point anything out either. But I can upload regular attachments to my contacts and everything.

Any additional ideas would be great. Thanks for your help.

I recently ran into a similar issue and it was due to the upload_max_filesize and post_max_size variables were set too low. I also increased max_execution_time and max_input_time, but I think the problem was more related to the first 2 parameters being too low.

What are those two parameters set to on your install?

The max_upload_filesize is 20M and the post_max_size is 8M, max_execution_time is 50000 and max_input_time is -1

Let me know what you think of those numbers. I think they are reasonable except maybe for the max input time.

Ok it looks like I got it to work.. I uped each one of the values like you said and when I did max input time as the last one I was able to upload! Thanks for your help!
