Exclamation Module Loader and Upgrade wizard non-responsive on SugarCRM CE 4.5.1h

    Hi All,

I have had recurrent issues with the module loader taking well in excess of 10 minutes loading on a number of servers in the last three months.

Originally, I figured that it must be to do with the code changes listed on this forum inreply to jnovak's post, however I have tried on both physical and virtual machines and I have noticed that if I try and install on any of our production or test servers I encounter this issue of slow loading when SOAP calls appear to be made to "the mothership".

If I install exactly the same version of SugarCRM on a virtual server on my laptop using exactly the same installation medum, the system works without issue.

Can anyone suggest any pointers on where to start looking to resolve this?

    Thanks in advance,

    PF.

    Hi all,

Apologies to interrupt the festivities but i really need a solution to this.

Can it really be that no-one has the answer to this issue?

Can the server correctly resolve a server name via a DNS server?

Is there any system log generated?

Thanks for the reply. This is one of the main issues that I am having.

The server resolves DNS without any issues and does not write any errors to the logs as far as I can see.

Any ideas on how to research it further?

Exclamation Re: Module Loader and Upgrade wizard non-responsive on SugarCRM CE 4.5.1h (UPDATED)

    Hi all,

Having run a packet sniffer over the wire, this appears to be an issue with the connection in /ModuleInstall/PackageManager/PackageManagerComm.php on lines 26 (the HTTPS_URL definition) and 41 (the initialisation of the SOAP client).

I can confirm that the connection to depot.sugarcrm.com can be done without issue from the command line of the sugarcrm server and works also via firefox on my desktop.

The packet trace advises that the connection between my Sugar server and depot.sugarcrm.com is being reset by depot.sugarcrm.com - can anyone advise why this might be?

    Cheers,

    PF.

Angry Re: Module Loader and Upgrade wizard non-responsive on SugarCRM CE 4.5.1h

OK, another update - I have now installed Sugar 4.5.1h onto four different servers/PCs on my lan and at least three VMs on my laptop (also connected to the LAN).

On my laptop it works fine, both on the machine itself and in a VM. On the servers and desktop it does not. Module Loader still "hangs" when I try and access it.

I have got to the point where I am physically tracing the cables around my network to try and work out what is going on, however all of the systems that are running sugar go through the same switches, routers and firewalls so I do not believe it is a hardware issue.

I have enabled all error logging within PHP and Apache. I have had ssh sessions to my server open with tail -f on syslog, apache-error.log and php.log running in seperate windows on my desktop whilst I try and access the module loader with no errors gerenated anywhere. I've had packet sniffers running over the network whilst I do this and they are reporting that there are no errors on the network.

I am going out of my mind on this, please, please, please can someone help solve this issue? I am seriously considering filing a bug report against this in the next few days if there is no resolution.

    PF.

Just installed the latest Community Release for testing purposes on Godaddy's shared hosting.
Having the same exact issue as described above.
Module Loader, and Upgrade Installer both hang and never resolve.
Since this is a demo for a prospective client, I hope to find a resolution to this soon, or I'm going to have to scrap it for something else.
Looks like Professor Falken has analyzed this thoroughly, thanks.
I will try and continue to troubleshoot myself, but I am not a sys admin.
    Anyone have any ideas?

stevermeeks - This is a known issue with GoDaddy hosting, you must send the SOAP requests via a proxy.

The issue that I am experiencing is hosted on our own servers, on our own network, via a Zen ADSL connection, this is why I'm having such issues tracking this down.

For more info on godaddy, search the forums or google for "godaddy sugarcrm"

    PF --
    Thanks for the info.
I will do some more research.
I perused through both forums prior to install for "godaddy sugarcrm" as I have had other difficulties with Godaddy and other opensource solutions.
Like you, the error logs don't show anything relevant.
I'll definitely look into the "proxy" situation, and if I can get it to work, more than likely install on a Sugar friendly hosting provider and not my demo/testing situation at Godaddy.
    Thanks again.
