Default More than one Sugar Installation

I was wondering if it is possible to have more than one Sugar Installation on the same Server, say i have a folder called Sugar already and i create another sugar installation in another folder say 'sugarcrm' and use different databases for both installations, does the new one affect the former installation and is there any impact on resources for this kind of setup..

    Cheers.

As long as they are in a different folder and different db's, you should be fine.
We have 100 different sites on one server.

They will work just fine being on the same server as long as the instances are in different folders and have different databases. However, more sites on the server will comsume more resources than you may have.
