Moving Roles to another instance

Hi.

I have two instances of sugar a live and a test. In my test I have roles configured and tested and I now want to0 move them to the live instance. How can I move the roles I have created from one instance two another - the roles are complex and I don't like the idea of creating them again.

Hi Chris

If you can make sure the users are the same at both instances you can export the tables acl_actions, acl_roles, acl_roles_actions, acl_roles_users from test instance and import into live instance.

The users will always be the same but the ID sugar gives to users may not - will this have any effect on importing the test tables to the live database

So you can export the tables acl_actions, acl_roles, acl_roles_actions, import them into live instance, reassign the users into Roles and go to Admin -> Repair -> Repair Roles.

Hi!

Just copy acl_actions, acl_roles, acl_roles_actions to new instance.
Then asign users to new roles.

Make before Back Up!
