    Default Multiple Accounts tabs?

Is there a way to set up Sugar to have more than one Accounts tab? We need to track two types of accounts and for various reasons we do not want to use an account type designation within the account itself (like using the Industry type dropdown). We'd like two separate lists to work from. Is this possible or am I looking at two separate installations of Sugar?

Just FYI, the two types of accounts are spas and wine boutiques. We want to keep them separate for two different sales depts for calls, e-mail blasts, etc.

    Hello,

there is technically a way to have separate tabs appear which filter the two different account types. We did a similar customization for one of our clients, but this is not an easy task. I would really suggest having a type field in the Accounts module, and then creating a saved search for the two different account types for your two sales teams. This way, they can select the saved search to only display the accounts relevant to them.

You could create another module that was like an account but it would be an awful lot of work as it's one of the most feature rich modules in Sugar.

Having a drop down list of account type would be far easier as you can easily add that as a search type to all the lists used for email blasting or for sales departments to work from.

But the best option, however, would be to leave account as generic, but then hang another related module off of it which was spa or wine oriented. So, for example, if you have a module named "Spas" and a module named "Wine Boutiques", each of which is related to Account, then your two departments can be given access to either the Spa tab or the Wine Boutique tab as required. Each would be related to an account. But your two departments would work from two different lists which totally suited them?

This makes sense as presumably you would require different fields for each type. A wine boutique for example, may have a field for the number of wines they stock - which, in this instance, would be a stupid field to put on an account record. Similarly, the "number of beauticians" would only be appropriate for Spas (not sure beautician is the name of a Spa worker but you get my point).
