Multiple records displayed in Leads List after Edit

Has anyone seen this before? When I edit a lead and save it, then go back to the list view, I get two records listed. There is only one in the database - wierd. Edit again and i get 3, then 4, ...
If i delete one, they all disapear just to confirm they are the same record.

Anyone get any pointers to why this is happening?

Hi,

we have had a couple of similar issues at two of our customers, although in both cases they were 4.5.x systems. The issue occured in our scenarios with single users. Is this what you are seeing?

If I remember correctly we got around the issue by either rebuilding the roles, or teams (if PRO) and maybe by resetting the user's settings.

Thanks for the input. Just to check to see if it is anything relate to the roles or users. I changed the lead record fields so that one of the records that displays as multiple in the UI lead list was changed such that the modified, created and aligned user ids was the same as another record which displays only one record. In fact I went further and aligned almost every field the same as another record and one of the records is still displaying multiple times in the lead list whilst the other is showing just once which suggests that there is another table involved.

Does anyone know what the sql query is that displays the lead list?

Ok, found the culprit, but not sure what is causing it.
There is a table called leads_cstm - anyone know what this is?
There were two identical records relating to the lead. Once i deleted one, voila, I only get one lead showing.

Now, anyone any idea what is writing records this table when one is already there?

leads_cstm contains your custom lead fields related through the lead_id I to the original record in leads. Might have been a hiccup somewhere, such things are usually related to index errors. There should be constraints in the db but there aren't unfortunuately. Do a repair every now and then.

Tried a repair and although some stuff comes up (mainly about nulls on columns, etc) nothing relating to the custom fields table appears or anything that looks helpful.

Now, Realising its the custom fields that the problem, I decided to delete the two in the Leads module. One went away but the other just wont go.

So, does anyone have an idea how I can remove a custom field manually?

SUCCESS!!!!

I had a trawl around and noticed loads of files in the cache/modules/leads directory. I thought I had asked it to clear the cache? I found a file there referring to the custom field so i deleted it out and suddenly the field was gone!

Looks like my permissions are a bit screwy that is preventing the files being cleared in the cache (or its a bug in 5.2) who knows. At least my Leads are'nt duplicating up now.

I wish I knew why I cant delete the last field. I have checked the setting son the directories and they were wrong. Having set them correct now, the repair works and puts the damn field back, leaving me to hack the cache directory to remove it again. (in listvardefs.php)

Now if I could only find out why i cant delete the field through the UI or even where it i stored in the files, I could stop it coming back!
