Multiple Tax rates / Tax rate per product

Hello evrybody.
In the Netherlands, different products have different tax rates.

For instance: a 6 percent rate is applied to books and food, while a 19 percent rate is applied to -for instance- transportation. So, if I would like to create a quote for, let's say, 1 tonne of potatoes that needs to be transported to the customer, the 6% rate is applied to the potatoes and the 19% rate is applied to transportation costs.

Is there a way to assign a tax rate to a product itself? Now I can only select a single rate ('Tax rate'). In the product line, I can only select 'taxable' o 'not-taxable', buit I can't select the appropriate rate.

Is the a way to solve this?

Hi Jeroen.

Yes, it is possible to solve that problem, but this requires modification in the javascript file which generate the dynamic table of Products and calculate the subtotal and total for the quote.
We have done it before for a customer.

Hi Jeroen,

We've done quite a few projects with the Products and Quotes modules, which are more difficult to customize than the modules that more closely adhere to the Sugar architecture.

Our approach would be to add the field Tax Rate to the ProductTemplate module, then pull this field into the Quotes module. In Quotes, it will require changes to the EditView and DetailView, as well as to quotes.js, EditView.js and probably Invoice.php and Standard.php. Many of the changes (e.g. to the js files) will not be upgrade-safe.
