    Default Multiple User Access

    Hi all,

I am completely new to SugarCRM, and I'm struggling mightily.

I have added multiple users using the 'add user' function. I have assigned passwords, etc.

My questions is, how do these users access the database?

I'm assuming they have to download the fast stack package, but this ends up creating a totally new database each time it is downloaded/installed.

Is it even possible to access the database from multiple computers?

    Thanks in advance.

You need to give the user's the URL you are using to connect. They will then be prompted to enter a user/password.

Unless you've defined that URL as 127.0.0.1/sugarcrm or localhost/sugarcrm (or the like), it should come up just like any other web site.

The installation summary tells me to point my browser to:

http://127.0.0.1:****/sugarcrm/ (except **** are actual numbers)

    This needs to be changed?

This works when I login on my computer, but others cannot log in from their computers using the URL.

    Right, hence my earlier comment.

You need to replace 127.0.0.1 with the IP address of your machine as seen by other computers on your network and then you'll be good to go.

You can change it by editing the config.php file in your Sugar install directory. You'll want to modify the site_url setting.
