Default Multiple users be associated with one account?

    Example:
Jane and Joe are in my Users table with no accounts associated yet. A, B, C are in my accounts table. Jane is associated with account A. Joe is assocaited with account A,B, and C. Thus, in Accounts, all I need to do is Mass Update the Accounts A,B, and C to Joe. So, if I log in as Joe, I could see the Account List of A,B, and C. However, what about Jane? Jane is associated with A, but that account already has a user.

    Can anyone help with this?

You might want to look at using teams as the solution to this problem.

Can you direct me to where I might find more info on how to configure for teams?

    TIA

If you're using community edition then you will need to use the teams addon module from SugarForge/Exchange. I have not used it so I cannot comment on how well it works.

    Hi, all.

    The TeamsOS works right fine.

Lâmpada Global Services developed its as it is in the licensed flavors of 4.2 version.
The legendary kbrill improved it a lot and migrated it to the 4.5.x versions.
It is still available into SugarForge in a right stable version working so fine in several customers of us and hundreds around the world.

So fell free for enjoying it.

    Cheers

I'm not familiar with Teams, so I'll just comment on the basic package.

If you look at a specific account in Edit View you will see the Assigned To field, which allows you to select a single user to assign the account to. This is a single field that only holds one user, so if you do the mass updates for both users, one will get overwritten.

Typically you will assign an account to a single user. So the question is what are you trying to accomplish by assigning an Account to multiple users?

If they have different roles, for example, one user is assigned for sales purposes and another is assigned for Technical Sales Support and another is assigned for Technical product Support, then you could add another custom field to hold each additional assignment.

If, however, you are assigning each account to be handled by a sales team and want each team member to see all the contacts, then the Team solution would be much better.

So think about what you're trying to accomplish and it will help you define how to implement it.
