Default Multiplying emails. (same emai appears many many times!)

    Hello All

I'm having very weird problem with inbound emails with Sugar.

Some emails are multplying themselves - so one email at mailserver converts into many copies in CRM.

I'm using regular POP3 inbound accounts and use "leave messages on server" option.

The process looks, like some emsils are getting into CRM more, than once - so the older email is - the more copies are there. Some emails have 4000+ copies!

Did anyone meet similar thing before?

Yes we're seeing it on one of our 4.5.1d installations. As we'll be upgrading to 5.0 GA when it arrives, we just clear these with an Mysql query.

Just deleted all emails with SQL quesry from Sugar and made attachments cleanup.
Left just one inbound handling mailbox active and again! Attack of clones....

Looks like every time scheduler checks email - it gets another copy of some emails.

I can't find any special thing about paritcular emails getting cloned yet

I wonder - if paid CRM will have same bug...

    Hey Guys,

If you are using the 'Leave messages on Server' option, are you also enabling the 'Import only since last check' option?

If you are not then SugarCRM should quite rightly download every single last email it finds on the server each time it checks, if it doesn't delete any and it hasn't been told to go to the trouble of excluding emails it already has then of course you are going to end up with duplicates.

I'm only new to SugarCRM, I think I'm right about this though.

    Regards,
    Rob.

    ...beat me to it.

And if that doesn't stop them from multiplying, have your emails spayed or neutered

In fact - it is reasonable to expect CRM to get emails many times (every time it checks mailbox) if "Import since last check" is unchecked.

However, why does not it multiply All emails, but a few particular ones?

    Hey Arseni,

That's just outright weird and I can't fathom that one, can you switch your INBOX to an IMAP type - I've read that IMAP is much more suited to (and does much better job of) leaving messages on the server than POP3 does.

    Regards,
    Rob.
