I have successfully tested RoleOwner 4.5.1e_3 on my test system, which is a Windows install running version 4.5.1. No problems at all, and the module works perfectly.
Based on this, I installed it to my production system last night - which is a Sugar Appliance download running Linux and version 4.5.1. This morning the system users were all in my office telling me they couldn't see ANY accounts. I logged in as admin, and sure enough - no account list. I clicked on one of the recently accessed account names at the top of the page, and it showed me the account info. But at the bottom of the page where all the additional tabs normally display was a long message that said:
"Error retrieving Account list: Query Failed" plus a long listing of the SQL ending in MYSQL error 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax.
I searched the forums and found many other instances of this type of error being reported after upgrades or other activity to load modules, seemingly with a number of different explanations for how it happens.
Since the only change to the system had been the install of RoleOwner, I uninstalled it but still had the problem. Based on info in the forums, I ran "Repair Relationships" and that fixed it. However, now I am hesitant to re-install RoleOwner or any other upgrade or new module until I have a better understanding of what happened and how to avoid it.
Can someone shed some light on how to prevent this sort of issue??
