mysql error when assigning leads to users

When assigning leads to users I get many different errors:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /var/www/sugarcrm/include/utils/db_utils.php on line 223

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /var/www/sugarcrm/include/utils.php on line 1618

I have seen another error asking me to check line 1118 on SugarBean.php

I dont know if editing my php time out would work. If I try the same action again, it usually works, FAST.

does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

Im running all the latest mysql php apache on ubuntu hardy.

Does this error occurs only in this process?
How many leads do you have?
How many leads are you trying to reassign?
Which Sugar version are you using?
Which database are you using?

Check:

1. your proxy settings;
2. value of site_url in config.php, this must be the same address accessed in the address bar in browser;

This is one of many database related errors I have come across in sugar. I have not logged them all. I have noticed that many mention vardefs. Perhaps I need to repair something but I dont know what precisely.

I have 3200 leads
This problem happens randomly. It could be 5 leads or 200. Sometimes the query will return an error yet when I refresh my information, everything has been changed.
I changed the php time limit and reset apache.

Sugar version 5.0.0f (about to update to g)
latest mysql 5.0

I will check proxy settings although i dont believe they are changed on this machine.

site_url could definately be the culprit. Sometimes I access the server via IP on my private network instead of by domain. thank you for your suggestions.

using the site via what is listed in site_url has relieved the problems, thank you. A related error has popped up while trying to assign leads to users. If I click the 'select all records' drop down in the upper left of the leads listview, then perform the update, I encounter this error

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 57 bytes) in /var/www/sugarcrm/include/database/MysqliManager.php on line 351

mysql has 128mb of memory in php.ini

any ideas?
