    Default n00000b question of note

    Hi all,

Glad to be on the forum.

I have just started at a company that is using another crm software (Can I say...)

Anyway, that software is not the problem yet, or should I say, not the reason for this post. The reason I am posting is to establish, is there a dedicated sugar crm server software that I can install on a server machine?

If this is the case, is there client software that I can install on the client machines & point them at the server machine?

I cant find anything as all the downloads offer apache & php included if you dont have them already installed.

So what am I missing, or misunderstanding with this whole setup?

I have the sugarcrm-CE.5.0.windows installer (mssql I think) package and when I install this, it will always and forever only be a client/desktop software where no shared details are visible with other users on the LAN.

I would like to have a server side where clients connect & share data

    Look forward to help/responses.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi there,

Welcome to the forums! Yes, you can install Sugar on top of your existing stack. Here's the link to the download package that is the most current, and here's a link to the download page that lists all of the installation options (including installers that install the whole stack, patches for upgrades, and the beta release of the next version, which should NOT be run in a production environment).

    Hi Ice001,

If you want you can also pick up a Linux based server like the Trixbox I use. This install Linux, mysql, php and all you need to get Sugar up and running easily.

If you want some help, There are a bunch of us that do this regularly. BTW Trixbox also would give you VOIP capability if your company is interested.

It is best to install sugar on a Server of some type. XP works but you have the concurrent user issues with desktop operating systems.

Giove me a shout if you need more help,

    Paris

PS You can also send a private message if you want.

    --Bump--

Sorry to just bump, but I am really just looking for the server software. Is that the exchange or can I use the client software to run a server? If so, is there anyone who can help out with this?
