Need to add a many-to-many field to the Contacts module

I need to create some many-to-many fields in my Contacts module. Do I first need to create a new module for each many-to-many field? Or is there some other way of doing it?

Do you want to add a new relationship between Contacts and some other module? Or do you want to add a field that contains data specific to a relationship rather than either related module?

You can add a relationship to another existing module in Studio.

To add a field with data unique to a relationship (two related records), see this thread for most of the solution. The edit is not yet worked out in that thread, but see the Opportunities-Contacts relationship for an example (I think the role field). Be warned that this requires a lot of code customization.
