    Default Need to Categorize Contacts

    Hi,

I am not using Sugar to run a business, but just to manage contacts and send mass email.

One thing that I am not sure about however is how I can categorize my contacts so if I get a group that are part of a certain program I can keep them separate to easily determine what group of people to send certain mass emails to.

For example, if I have a group that is interested in Sports, and a group interested in Cooking, then I can easily set up a campaign to send out emails to just the Sports contacts. Now I might also want some contacts to be in Sports AND Cooking.

What is the easiest way to do this? Should I use Accounts as categories, or does that not let me target a group for an email campaign?

    Trevor.

    Hi,

Use the Studio component (Admin -> Studio) to create defferent marketing fields, either check boxes or multiple lists.

    Hope this helps

That looks like it will work well, I just tried adding some custom fields to contacts (checkboxes), but they don't show up when I look at any contacts now. Where should they appear?

    Thanks,

    Trevor.

you have to go into the studio component and change the layout of the contacts page, or whichever page you want to add the fields to.

On a related note, is there a way to add a custom field to the search?
