Angry Need help importing leads from Salesforce into SugarCRM

I have tried numerous times to import my leads from Salesforce using a CSV file to SugarCRM and everytime it starts but then locks up and no leads are populated to Sugar. I ran a script that would provide me with sugar guid and applied that however still no success.

Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

I had plans to use Apatar but since we are using Salesforce Professional versus Enterprise we can't use the Salesforce connector that comes with Apatar.

I look forward to hearing your suggestions/ideas on this matter.

    Thank you!

Try reducing the data set to smaller chunks. Secondly, since you applied a Sugar GUID to the records already, you could do the import using a tool such as PHPMyAdmin or SQLyog.

    Angel,

I have 5000 leads, how small would you recommend? Can you tell me more about the programs you mentioned in your reply. I am definitely not the techie but these things drive me nuts until I can get them resolved.

    Thanks

Try splitting it into chunks of 1000 or less. Try 1000 first and if that doesn't work, try 500.

    As for the tools..

phpMyAdmin is a web based tool that allows you to view and manipulate the database without having to go through the Sugar interface. One of its features allows you to import data from text files, which should already be the format of the Salesforce data that you have.

More info on phpMyAdmin at http://www.phpmyadmin.net/home_page/index.php

SQLyog is similar to it, but it is not web based. I tend to prefer it because it is faster and also has additional capabilities not found in the other, albeit, they may not be necessary for your needs.

Further info on it at www.webyog.com

Both applications are free and open source as well.

Unhappy Re: Need help importing leads from Salesforce into SugarCRM

    Angel,

Thank you I was able to finally see some leads in Sugar. I am still experiencing some issues that I hope you know the answers too or at least be able to point me in the right direction. See issues below.

    1. When importing leads into Sugar my lead source, lead status along with a couple of custom fields will not populate with the information despite having all the lead sources/statuses updated along with the custom fields added. Lead source and Lead status however would populate if I mapped it to the lead source /status description fields (strange) but the custom fields still didn't.

    2. In Salesforce, with each lead there is an area where you can add/ update the activities for each account (calls, emails, etc.) and in Sugar I see the same area however when I import there is no field to map too for this information. I have even tried using Apaptar software and can't seem to see where I can import all the activity history. Have any suggestions on this? In Salesforce there is an ID credated for the task itself and is tied back to the lead through the WHOID (Lead ID #) but there isn't anything like this in Sugar. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Angela
