new changes not displayed

am a new user of sugar crm and i have tried to edit the fields under accounts but after saving , they are not reflected any where in the system. can someone advise me on how to customize this system to my needs?.......
i am desperately waiting for your advise

Please see you are doing Save and Deploy. And see if developer mode is ON?
