New to CRM world

Ok,
I'm new to usigng a CRM system. I work for a hedge fund and I was wondering to what extent Sugar CRM could be customized. Here are a few scenarios:

1) I don't have sales people, I do have what are called capital raisers who act almost like sales people in the fact that they try to sell the fund to investors.

2) I need to track amounts of capital raised by each capital raiser.


Basically I wanted to ask if the community felt there was a chance that Sugar CRM could work for me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

SugarCRM code is open, so it can be 100% customized to your needs. Modules and fields can be renamed in the system to be relevant to your industry terms, and any new fields or functionality can be added based on what you need.

So based on your questions below, you could use the Accounts and/or Contacts modules to track the Investors, and your capital raisers can use these modules in conjunction with the Opportunities module to track potential capital, and capital 'closed' (sold) to each investor. You could also use the leads module to have your capital raisers track potential leads.
