    Default New Installation Problem

I am trying to install the current release of the Community Edition 6.2.0 and cannot get past setting my database settings in the installation wizard. I get the following error message: "The provided database host, username, and/or password is invalid, and a connection to the database could not be established. Please enter a valid host, username and password. 0: )." I have triple-verified that the information is correct and have tested it my connecting to the database with phpMyAdmin with no problems. My assumption is that Sugar CRM does not like my database host name which is "localhost:/tmp/mysql5.sock" without the quotes. This is correct and provided by my hosting company. Is there a PHP code tweak I can make in one or more of the Sugar CRM install files to get it to accept this host name? Or is there another workaround?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Gary

Kuske - Thanks. I forgot I posted that last year. I had to put the project on hold, now I am back to it. The problem is that none of the solutions posted to my original post do not work. The last one suggests modifying the PHP.INI file. That would be fine if I had access to that file. Unfortunately, I don't have access to that INI file with my host provider. There has got to be some code tweak I can make to a connection file or something within SugarCRM to allow it to accept my DB Host. I have other third-party open source products that work with it fine without making any changes to my INI file. SugarCRM should be no different.

Again, thanks. If I can't get this to work sometime soon, I will have to use some other CRM and not SugarCRM. I would prefer this one.
