New module relationship

I am a realtor, I created a module for homebuyers wants in a house....# of Beds, Baths, etc...... I am not sure how to attach that to a LEAD and then to a CONTACT when it becomes one. I assume that it will be done in the relationship??? If so what relationship do I use.....I have a hard time grasping the relationship part for some reason.

Or....

Would it be better to put that info in the Lead module? The only thing with doing that is I don't want all the feilds to show up if the lead is not a HOMEBUYER,

I believe a good approach to make your work easier is to:
Create a module to store Houses for Sale, hopefully the one you just built. This one would have all fields which describes the house itself;
Create a second module to store customer wishes, that means, how many beds, baths etc, also you may include a flex relate field where you will be able to choose either a Contact or a Lead.
Create a relationship Many to Many between Houses for Sale and Customer Wishes

This was the easy step.

The next steps would accomplish an automatic houses lookup which match customer wishes:
Create a new view on Customer Wishes which would match the customer wishes against existing Houses for Sale. For each House for Sale which matches the Customer Wishes you may setup a relationship the way you can see all matches on a subpanel on Customer Wishes. This way it is easy to lookup for a good opportunity for Customers.
