Linux can be pretty different across distributions, but lately, I have really liked the Ubuntu (www.ubuntu.com) distribution. I was able to get the OS, Apache, PHP, MySQL, Subversion (for source control), and SugarCRM open source, all configured and installed in about 3 hours.
My suggestion (if you haven't figured it out already), is to grab Ubunut and use the Synaptic package manager to search for your modules:
Apache
PHP
MySQL
Then follow the directions for installing SugarCRM. If you're somewhat familiar with Linux, you shouldn't have a problem at all...
Best Regards,
Gregg
We have an installation guide for our Info At Hand commercial superset of SugarCRM - here http://infoathand.com/Brochure%20Fil...on%20Guide.pdf.
It documents the installation of Redhat Fedora Core 4 from scratch on a blank hard drive, and then the installation of the Info At Hand application on top of it. If you just finish off by installing SugarCRM OS instead of Info At Hand - I think you will find it pretty easy.
Novell SUSE Linux 10 has a great product. We were able to simply copy our ASP.NET application to SUSE and run it on Mono. Very cool, too bad SugarCRM was written in PHP and not C#.

I have Suse 10.1 already installed and running fine. I try to make Sugar CRM works with suse. so, you have any ideas of how this program work?
Please be more detail?
thanks a lot,

Well, with some SuSE package manager you need to get Apache 2, PHP4 (or 5) and MySQL running...if you have that all running, you can just unpack a SugarCRM package and extract that in your Apache DocumentRoot (/var/www/ most of the times).Originally Posted by nerdygirl

I'll try and let you know if it works.
Thanks a lot
