Greetings
I am the owner of a small IT reseller and consulting business. I have some 30 years of experience in the IT industry almost all of it in programming, admin and tech pre-sales.
I am now at the point where I need to implement and use a CRM, a first for me if you discount some dim and distant use of an early Lotus Notes.
I have just downloaded and installed SugarCRM on our server. From a technical perspective everything is working fine.
What I am now looking for is a high-level flow diagram of how the system is used from scratch.
For example, If I cold-call a prospective customer, do I create an Account first and then a Contact and then a call record? or is there a way to simply start with a call and build from there?. Is there an easier way of doing things?
Tried some of the available movies from the support web site but they seem to be more aimed at what the screens look like rather than how they work. I'm really looking for the "this is how you use it" 50,000 ft view.
Hope that makes sense. Would appreciate any suggestions or pointers (short of taxidermy).
Thanks and Regards
Nigel.
