Hi everybody,
My wife and I have just opened a small trading company, so i decided to look for a good CRM i could use within a self-made intranet. After i discovered Sugar, i took the following steps :
1. Downloaded and installed Xampp 1.6.3a and installed it successfully.
2. Downloaded Sugar and included it successfully in the Xampp path.
3. Loaded Sugar, configured it from A -> Z, and started to work with it.
Everything seems to be ok, but i still have some problems remaining that i can't solve by myself, maybe some of you can take 5 minutes to help me out, which would be very nice.
My system : Athlon FX-57, 2 Gigs of RAM, 1 Main HD 74Gb Raptor as main OS and Progs drive, 1 external USB HD specially dedicated to Xampp and Sugar.
My Internet connection : DSL 6000
My Com devices : Internal ISDN card for ISDN issues (fax, phone, etc) and a DSL modem / router with wireless capabilities and 4 possible wired LAN slots.
Sugar is hosted on my desktop PC which is also my client, my portable computer with wireless connection is the client on which my wife is supposed to work. I first configured the router to establish an internet gateway connection to get my desktop PC to access to the internet. After that, i activated the wireless capabilities of the router and added the laptop to the intranet. After i created an account for my wife and configured the IPs, i could successfully log in Sugar from my laptop.
My existing Network connections :
- 2 Dial-up connections which were automatically set up by the ISDN card but which i never use.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- 1 internet gateway connection set up by the router.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- 1 wireless connection to communicate with the laptop
- 1 DSL connection to my provider
So here are my 2 questions :
- Considering that i installed the latest Xampp package, are there any other caching / compression / expire steps to take in order to reduce the loading of Sugar pages ? (average between 1,5 and 3,5 secs per page)
- When i retrieve my mails from the Sugar email client on my desktop PC, everything goes fine, but when i click on any contact's email adress to send a mail, the client opens with the fields filled and some window pops up to ask me to choose between the 2 Dial-up connections i described above, although i have an internet gateway... I am forced every time to close that window before i start to write the mail and send it... where can i turn this off ?
Curiously, this doesn't happen on the Laptop, the client opens, i fill-in the body and click on send... the mail is out and that's it... strange.
Well if i could get answers on those 2 points that would be a great help.
