    Default Newsletters with Sugar

    Hi there,

    I have been trying SugarCRM and Salesforce for a while. My conclusion is that I can go on with a professional use of Sugar instead of Salesforce. However, I am having some difficulties to understand some features, like Email Marketing.

    My main goal is to, periodically, send a email newsletter. As far as I understood, I have to create a Campaign, Target Lists and and Email Marketing. I find this barriers:

    - after send the newsletter for the first time, the target list becomes a Suppressed Target List, and all contacts within become blocked;
    - I have a huge list of contacts. I want to divide the newsletter sending into smaller groups of targets. How can I do this? Do I have to create separate campaigns?
    - the Email Marketing uses a custom email template. I would like to use a body background for the whole page, but FCKEditor doesn't use tag body;
    - images don't load well (or doesn't load at all) in MS Outlook.

    Has anybody experienced any of this problems/doubts?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Marco

    Try creating target lists for each of your groups.

    Hi,

    In sugar 5 there are newletters and subscriptions functions. For images under Outlook, it depend of your Outlook settings. If your Outlook settings lock images and if you want see images right click on and download them.

    For the email template, you can edit source code to write directly the html, css, and javascript.

    I have not been able to get CSS to work correctly with SugarCRM mail client. Once you submit the source, Sugar strips the css out of your html. I have found that it is best to avoid using css with sugar campaigns and it is best to edit all html tags individually.
