No 'Convert lead' link

Hello,

I'm new to SugarCRM and I have a little question.

When I first installed the CRM I was able to convert leads to accounts. Now that option has vanished from the edit view of leads.

I have added custom fields to leads. Is that a possible reason? Must contacts have all the same fields as leads for the conversion to be possible?

Otherwise are there any other reasons why the 'Convert lead' option would not appear?

I've tested against a fresh install and it's only the tab which is missing. When I use paste the url into the address bar I still get the convert lead form.

This also made me notice that other tabs are missing from the lead page - there is no edit tab, no manage subscription, etc - the only tabs present are save, cancel and view change log.

All I've done so far is add custom fields, add some roles and change the lead edit and lead editview and lead displayview layouts.

I'm logged in with the admin, original account.

Hello,

Save, Cancel and View change log buttons appear in Edit mode of Leads. While Convert lead button is available in Detail view. If it is still not available, attach your custom/modules/Leads/metadata/detailviewdefs.php here.

Hi Guys,
I work at the same company as Jupiter23, trying to fix that problem as well.

When i look in modules/Leads/metadata/detailviewdefs.php, the "Convert" button is there..

When i look in the custom/modules/Lead/metadata/detailviewsdefs.php, it's not there. I tried to add it as per some threads i read in the forunm, to no avail.. Either the code i tried in there is badly formed, or my changes dont get picked-up.

Anyways, i have attached the file (without my convert-button-adding-tests),
