Default No incoming mail (IMAP, gmail)

    hi everyone,

we just set up a test box, running CE 6.2rc2, php 5.3.2, mysql 5.1.52, apache 2.2.15, scientific linux 6 but no emails are being received.

the inbound route is a gmail (google apps) account. SSL is checked, server is imap.gmail.com, the username is entered correctly, i am able to see and set IMAP folder subscriptions, and the test is successful.

but when i switch to the emails panel, the account is blank! 0 emails!

i also added another IMAP account hosted by hostmonster.com, no SSL,can set IMAP folders and connection successful, but still no emails.

automatic check is set to 5mins, and after such time, still nothing.

i set the log to debug, but it doesn't show any error in trying to connect... as a matter of fact, i don't even see any effort being made to connect.

    any ideas? thanks in advance!

UPDATE: adding the account in Emails > Settings > Mail Accounts actually WORKS! but it adds it as a personal account, instead of a group email.

Sounds like your cron.php is not being called. Check in Admin > Schedulers for details of how to configure the cron using the linux crontab.

yeah this sucks. its a pretty fundamental feature, i really hoped it would work.

my solution around this would be to add the info/support boxes we need as a personal account in each user. like i mentioned before, adding them as a personal account works just fine.

not sure how that works in keeping things organized correctly.

I've got the same problem I think.

POP3 (Personal) email works fine, but I need the IMAP to work so I can have group mail.

I have found that every time I save the settings for IMAP, despite having entered the email (GMail) password, it never actually saves. If I enter the password and click on the sent, inbox and trash folders then the folders will come up, but click "save settings" and the password seems to drop, so that when I try to check mail nothing happens.
    The same happens if I enter the details (user, pw etc) and then click "test settings" - it connects perfectly, but then click "save settings" and the password again does not save. I know this because if I click "edit" and then "test settings" I get the message;

"Connection failed to gmail-imap.l.google.com,993: Connection timed out. Please check your settings and try again."

I then have to re-enter the password in order to connect. But then click "save settings" again and, well, you get the picture!

There has to be a simple explanation for this but until someone from Sugar actually helps, it means that for me and no doubt others in this forum, SugarCRM is utterly useless.

Please can someone take a look at this - it is clearly not an one off!!

Hello? Really? No one on this forum has an answer???

Come on. Having the email function is fundamental to SugarCRM CE being of any bloody use.

And this is not an isolated problem. Searching the forum for IMAP problems brings up many MANY issues uncannily similar to this one experienced on this thread.

Come on you so called self-proclaimed "Sugar Heroes" - start helping!!

Cool Re: No incoming mail (IMAP, gmail)

This is pretty simple so you may have already tried it but, make sure you are looking in the inbox of the IMAPed folder! I have same setup and if you are getting your imap folders then the system is logging on and if you don't open the folder and click on the inbox you may not see the emails
