Unhappy "no lines in your import file" when importing contacts

This is preventing me from importing contacts on a new install. Seems to occur regardless of the type of file I've uploaded.

It worked correctly the very first time I tried it, with a file that had about 150 lines. I then deleted all of the contacts I imported and every attempt since then has failed with the message I put in the Title.

    - Sugar 5.2.0a
    - Running Apache 2.2 on Windows 2003. Apache runs as administrator
    - PHP 5 running as the Apache module
    - PHP config is otherwise OK
    - The only PHP modules I have activated are Curl, Soap, and MySQL
    - Administrator has full control on all folders and files in the PHP and Sugar directories

There is one event getting triggered in Apache's event log that looks suspicious:

    [Fri Mar 06 12:08:50 2009] [error] [client 192.168.1.12] PHP Parse error: parse error in D:\\Program Files\\Sugar\\include\\utils\\mvc_utils.php(48) : eval()'d code on line 1, referer: http://server.REMOVED.php

I have removed and completely re-installed SugarCRM (without the demo data), though the problem still occurs. After re-installation I reverified permissions on all the folders, but no luck yet.

Any idea on what I should do next?

    Hi,

    This is related to PHP5.2.9.
    A fix was proposed at:
    http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showt...351#post153351

This fix worked fine for us.

Yes, I am running the Windows build of PHP 5.2.9. I went ahead and over-wrote the mvc_utils.php file using the patched one provided in the other thread. This succeeded in eliminating the Apache error entries, however SugarCRM still issues "no lines in your import file" when I try to send it a CSV of contacts to import.

I keep wanting to think this is caused by incorrect permissions, but I'm running Apache as Administrator (for now) with the PHP Module, and Administrator is owner and Full Control on the following and their children:

    D:\PHP (php folder)
    D:\Program Files\Sugar (sugar folder)
    C:\windows\temp (Windows temp folder)

Do these look OK to you?

More information: Downgrading to PHP 5.2.6 did not resolve the issue.

    Default Resolved!

OK, I got this issue resolved. When just the Second line of the CSV file is blank, the SugarCRM import module says there are "no lines" in it. Glad this is understood now. Thanks guys for your help.
