No SugarCRM login screen after JasperServer install?

Hello

I'd be most grateful for any pointers that can be offered:

When I try and login:
http://localhost/index.php?action=Login&module=Users
All I get is a blank screen (from the machine, and also remotely)

I get "Not Found
The requested URL /index.php was not found on this server.
Apache/2.2.4 (Ubuntu) PHP/5.2.3-1ubuntu6 Server at localhost Port 80"

I'd updated to 4.5.1g using the module loader, and also run Gutsy Gibbon (7.10 kubuntu)

When I look in /var/www/sugar, the php file does exist - and when I ls -l gives me:

-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 33387 2007-10-25 20:07 index.php

I recently installed JasperServer (which works via port 8080), and I can connect to MySQL via 3306 remotely. I also commented out the line in /etc/mysql/my.cnf to allow MySQL login from a remote machine.

Any suggestions? I took a backup last night - so I could blow everything away and start again, if need be. But I had really hoped to get JasperServer working nicely with it.

Is it possible that your apache root path points to /var/www ?
Just try to call http//localhost/sugar/index.php...
If so the original index.php in /var/www which is installed by sugar install is damaged or lost, or you installed the jasperserver in wrong directory?

Thanks for taking a look at this problem, I've checked for general web connectivity - and can display the README.txt file in the sugar directory. But the problem is that when I go to http://localhost/sugar/index.php , the browser changes the address to http://biggrey/sugar/index.php?actio...n&module=Users but this is a blank screen, View source shows nothing. I checked phpinfo.php and that works fine (I put test.php into the http://localhost/apache2-default/test.php (/var/www/apache2-default/test.php).

Seperately I looked at /var/www/sugar/sugarcrm.log - and the last few lines read:

Fri Oct 26 11:27:45 2007,111 [7102] FATAL SugarCRM - MySQL error 1054: Unknown column 'is_group' in 'where clause'

Which makes me wonder if there's a MySQL issue in the latest SugarCRM?

Any thoughts or comments would be very welcome

As far as I know, JasperServer contains a sample database called "sugarcrm" - maybe the installation overwrote your sugar database ...
