Default No theme applied, no apparent CSS

I've tried this installation a few different times now on two separate hosts, and it's always the same thing. The installation goes fairly smooth, then when all is said and done, Sugar won't load up any kind of theme or CSS, so it's almost unusable. I read a few suggestions from others, but none seemed to solve the problem.

I'm not sure what could be the problem here. Can someone help?

Here's the relevant information I know:

    -Linux.
    -SugarCE 5.5.1
    -Apache 2.2.11
    -PHP 5.2.9
    -MySQL 5.0.81-community

You need to adjust the permissions to the <sugar>/cache directory and it is contents. chmod -R 755 cache will usually take care of it.

I've just done that and it did help. But didn't solve the problem completely. The login screen now appears as it's supposed to, but once logged in it's back to no styling. What else could the problem be?

Okay, I followed the instructions I found in another thread saying that there were four directories that needed to be chmod 775, cahce, custom, data and modules. I did that with the recursive method. And, I chmod config.php to 664. The style issue seems to be resolved.

Thanks for the help. The chmod -R was the difference.
