non U.S user - currency issues

Hi, I'm from the United Kingdom and I want all currency related things in SugarCRM to be in GBP. Is there an easy way to change the base currency?. I can't seem to change the base/default currency from U.S, you can't highlight or delete it from the currency tab in SugarCRM, any ideas? Otherwise this is a very limiting system. I don't want to have to do conversions from US all the time.

I used the automated windows installer which did not give the option to change currency, amended using install.php & config.php
