Notification for Group Inbox

Is there anyway to get notifications to users when mail arrives into the Group Inbox?

What I want to do is let the sales team know via email, there are items in the Group Inbox that need to be assigned, or leads created etc.

I've filled in the email for the Mailbox group user, and also made sure notify was selected, but it doesn't seem to send any notifications.

The auto respond and scheduler are working properly via the cron.php, however and new items do appear in the group inbox without having to click the "check mail" button.

I'm using the latest release, Version 4.5.1e (Build 1049) on Ubuntu Dapper.

I don't think there is a way of doing that through buil-in functionality. However, at the same time, I am not sure this would be such a good idea.

The group inbox has the potential of being rather busy (at least that's the goal for most people) as it is usually intended for things like sales@example.com or things of that nature. If you send an alert every time something is in that box, your users will grow tired of it and tune it out.

Thanks for your response. In fact, its incoming sales queries that I want to handle.

I agree with you, but at the same time, we wouldn't want the sales emails to go unnoticed because no one checks the group inbox.

I was thinking of a once a day task that sends "there are still 10 unassigned emails" to the sales manager.

Is there a way to hook into Sugar to get something like this going?

Definitely, but would require some custom programming.

One idea would be to periodically fire off a PHP script that queries the database for you and sends out the message if e-mails are found.
