Notification of new lead

I have seen some similar posts that are years old so I don't want to use that guidance.

I would like to receive an email or SMS message when I get a new lead. Can any point me in the right direction? I am using
Version 5.0.0d (Build 3235).

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Dale.

You can use logic_hook before_save to do that.
Before saving a new Lead (record not yet into database) you can send an email using the own Emails module.
You can find good articles into sugarwiki which guide you to the right way.

OK - so I found the "Notifications On" checkbox in the email subpanel. However I can't get it to send mail when a new lead is created that has been assigned to me. I am able to send messages out throught the mail component. Anyone have any ideas?
